The
Memphis Airport Police Bike Squad is composed of Traffic and Police
officers.
Bike officers patrol inside the airport terminal, outside on the
terminal drives and parking lots for visibility as well as being able to
respond to emergency calls for service faster than officers on foot.
Those Bike Police Officers who are assigned to passenger screening
checkpoints have their bikes with them should the need arise to respond
to calls within their perspective concourses.
The Bike Traffic Officers utilize the bikes to monitor the terminal
drives and patrol the main parking plaza between
passenger pushes.
The recent change of uniform shirts for the traffic (white) and police
officers (blue) makes the entire squad more visible and recognizable.
Positive comments from
airport tenants and passengers re-enforce the
advantages for the Memphis Airport Police Department to have such a well
appreciated and organized squad. |
