Scott Brockman Elected Chair of AAAE Board of Examiners
Memphis International Airport Executive Vice President & COO Scott Brockman has been elected to Chair the American Association of Airport Executives' (AAAE) Board of Examiners. The AAAE Board of Examiners governs the group's highly respected accreditation and member certification programs for candidates seeking professional designation as Accredited Airport Executives (A.A.E.).
As Chair, Brockman will lead six regional and four at-large examiners in the evaluation process for candidates, a process which includes a stringent written examination, a written paper on an approved airport management topic, and an extensive oral interview by a panel of executive members - all required to test candidates' knowledge, comprehension and understanding of airport management before receiving accreditation.
In addition to being elected Chair of the Board of Examiners, Brockman was named 2012 Airport Professional of the Year by AAAE's Southeast Chapter during its recent Annual Conference. The honor was based on Brockman's positive influence and wide-ranging involvement in the Aviation Industry. One particular accomplishment cited was his establishment of the Chapter's Foundation Scholarship Funding Plan. This was the second time in three years that he has received the Chapter's Professional of the Year recognition.
AAAE, headquartered in Alexandria, VA, is the world's largest professional organization representing professionals who work at public-use commercial and general aviation airports. Total membership exceeds 5,000 and includes 3,300 individuals representing about 850 airports, as well as companies and groups that support the airport industry.
