Memphis Rated #1 in Cargo Service
The Airlines have recognized Memphis International Airport with the highest cargo service rating in North America for the fourth time in five years. The honor was the result of Air Cargo World Magazine’s annual Air Cargo Excellence Survey, which measures both airports and airlines on specific criteria and ranks them to identify above or below average performance.
Airport President and CEO Larry Cox received this honor on behalf of Memphis International at a public awards ceremony during last month’s International Air Transport Association World Cargo Symposium in Vancouver, Canada.
The rating is given by the actual customer groups. Airlines rate the airports on performance, value, facilities and regulatory operations.
“We respect this annual evaluation from our valued customers and will use it as a benchmark in our efforts to maintain a culture of continuous improvement as we transform America’s Distribution Center into America’s Aerotropolis,” said Cox.
Freight Forwarders, who rate the Airlines’ customer service, performance, value and information technology, ranked FedEx Express in second place, a significant leap from last year’s ninth place. For the complete results of the Air Cargo Excellence Survey, please click here.
