Winning Art From Student Art Contest Now Available as Gift Items
For the last six months, passengers travelling through Memphis International have appreciated art created by local students as part of the Airport’s inaugural visual art contest entitled Memphis, Its Music Sights and Sounds. Now, passengers have the opportunity to take some of the artwork home with them as gift items.
The Paradies Shops, and Hudson News, the two Gift & News retail concessionaires at the Airport are selling the gift items. Of the 44 paintings on exhibit in the Airport, 11 were selected for reproduction on mugs, T-Shirts, note cards, post cards and 18” x 24” prints suitable for framing. Proceeds from the sale of the items will perpetuate the Airport's student art contest by being used to purchase the participants' art supplies each year.
The original works of art have been on display in the Airport’s busy passenger walkway connectors between concourses A, B, and C.
