Frontier Shares the Love With Memphis
on Valentine's Day
What is better than roses or chocolates or jewelry on Valentine's Day? Low fares and new air service! Frontier Airlines (NASDAQ: FRNT) announced Wednesday a Valentine's Day surprise for Memphis, Tenn. with new service from Memphis to three cities — Denver, Las Vegas and Orlando — all of which begin on May 12. The two daily non-stops to Denver and the once-daily departures to Las Vegas and Orlando will be aboard one of Frontier's new Airbus aircraft, with 33 inches of legroom plus 24 channels of DIRECTV service and three pay-per-view movie options in every seat. In addition to the new non-stop markets, the Denver service will offer connections to 20 North American cities across three countries including Los Angeles, Phoenix, Seattle, Calgary and Los Cabos.
To celebrate the new service, Frontier is offering $99 introductory fares between Denver and Memphis each way; $79 fares between Memphis and Orlando each way; and $109 fares between Memphis and Las Vegas each way.* All introductory fares are available through March 28, 2007. In addition, Frontier will offer double miles for travel between any of these new city pairs through June 15, 2007, for members of EarlyReturns, Frontier Airlines' frequent flyer program. To enroll in the program, customers can visit Frontier's Web site, www.FrontierAirlines.com, pick up an EarlyReturns enrollment form at any Frontier airport counter or call Frontier's EarlyReturns Service Center toll-free hotline at 866-26-EARLY.
Feeling the Love
Frontier anticipates that the four daily flights will bring more than 50,000 passengers through Memphis each year. This translates into more than $15 million in tourist dollars for Memphis and the surrounding cities and towns each year.
"Memphis International Airport serves as the gateway to cities and towns all over the Mid-South," said Larry Cox, A.A.E., president and CEO of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority. "As the ninth major airline and another low-cost carrier to serve the Memphis area, Frontier's entrance into the market provides our customers with more choice and convenience when selecting destinations and adds a new level of competition to help keep fares low for travelers."
"With our new Denver-Memphis route, we're bringing the industry's best customer service and a premium coach product with 24 channels of DIRECTV programming in every seatback, to a market that has long been underserved for affordable fares to the West" said John Happ, senior vice president of marketing and planning for Frontier. "In addition, with the launch of our new Memphis-Orlando and Memphis-Las Vegas non-stop flights we can provide that same level of service to two of North America's top vacation and convention destinations from the heart of the Mid-South. These two new routes represent a tremendous opportunity for us and we look forward to May 12 when we can show Memphis that Frontier is truly "A Whole Different Animal."
