FOREIGN LANGUAGE TRANSLATION

Northwest / KLM Royal Dutch Airlines provides interpreters for the Customs Clearance Facility and the boarding areas for international flights. Interpreters can accommodate Dutch, German, Arabic, Spanish and French speaking passengers.

In addition, Northwest / KLM Royal Dutch Airlines has an agreement with the AT&T language line which puts passengers on the phone with an interpreter of any language in a matter of minutes.

TRANSIT WITHOUT VISA PORT OF ENTRY (POE) STATUS

Memphis International Airport was granted Transit Without Visa Port-of-Entry status July 1, 1995 by the U.S. Department of Justice, Immigration and Naturalization Service. This status benefits foreign travelers whose flight will connect through the Memphis International hub on their way to another foreign destination beyond the United States. These travelers will no longer be required to have a U.S. transit visa just to connect through the airport.

INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL INSURANCE AND BUSINESS SERVICE CENTER

International Travel Insurance and Business Service Center provides a variety of services to business travelers. Located Ticket Lobby "B". Open Daily:

Monday thru Friday 7:00 A.M. - 7:30 P.M.
Saturday 7:30 A.M. - 7:30 P.M.
Sunday 11:00 A.M. - 7:30 P.M.

An additional location is offered in Concourse "B" near the International Arrivals/Departures area at Gate B-36. This Kiosk has services limited to Travelex Travel Insurance and Foreign Currency Exchange. The Kiosk hours are 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM, daily.

Foreign Currency Exchange is available for most countries except those that are currently restricted. Currency for the following countries is usually always available for walk-ups:

Hong Kong
Japan
Mexico
Norway
Sweden
Switzerland
United Kingdom

The Euro is used in the following countries.

Austria
Belgium
Finland
France
Germany
Greece
Italy
Luxemburg
Netherlands-Holland
Portugal

Spain

Other currencies available but require 2-day advance notice.

Coins are not bought or sold for any foreign currency.
